The Technology Department endeavors to

Maintain the Wide Area Network for the division as well as all Local Area Networks for.the schools and school board office
Provide leadership for the planning of future implementation of new technologies and the effective use of current technologies
Provide training for staff in the usage of such technologies. Our educators have learned how and when to best use technology to enhance classroom instruction.

Our technology is governed by The Colonial Beach Schools Technology Plan which has been approved by the Colonial Beach School Board and the Virginia Department of Education. The Colonial Beach community and school system believe in the value of technical literacy. There is wide representation throughout the town on the Technology Committee that meets throughout the year and which supports the Six-Year Plan and the Virginia’s Standards of Learning.

There are computer labs throughout the division and one wireless mobile labs in most classrooms. High school classrooms have from one to four networked.computers. Elementary classrooms have from two to four networked.computers for SOL remediation. Each classroom has television-to-computer connections for viewing of relevant course objectives and curriculum material. Various software and online content are available for all students and staff to enhance instruction. Both campuses utilize bonded T-1 lines for.Internet.
